Shorter curfew hours will be implemented in the National Capital Region (NCR) when the pilot implementation of granular lockdowns and a new alert level system starts on September 16, Thursday.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos said that curfew hours in Metro Manila will be adjusted to 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting on Thursday.
Curfew in the capital region, which is under modified enhanced community quarantine, currently runs from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
“Nagbotohan kami, ilalabas namin ang resolution na implementasyon nito ay isasabay sa pilot. Magiging 10 ng gabi to 4 ng umaga ang curfew hours,” Abalos said during a televised briefing.
Metro Manila will be placed under Alert Level 4 starting on Thursday.
This alert level indicates that case counts are high, with a high total bed utilization rate and intensive care unit utilization rate.
Under Alert Level 4, those below the age of 18 and over the age of 65, people with underlying medical conditions, and pregnant women will not be allowed to leave their homes unless for obtaining goods and services, or for work.
