Releasing copy of SALN a way to show anti-corruption stance

Vice President Leni Robredo said that there are a myriad of ways to show that you are against corruption -- for one, by just regularly and voluntarily releasing the copy of statement of assets, liabilities and net worth.

In her weekly radio show, the Vice President said that showing SALN is one way of showing transparency.

Robredo has been transparent with her SALN and her office regularly issues it upon request since 2016.  On the other hand, President Rodrigo Duterte's SALN has not been made public since 2018.

Meanwhile, reacting to Duterte's remarks that he would audit the entire government once he becomes vice president, Robredo said that such is beyond the power of the office.

“Wala 'yan sa mandato namin. 'Yung pag-audit, nakalagay 'yan sa constitutional body para may independence,” she said, noting that the only function of the vice president is to succeed the president in case of death and incapacity.

"Creative lang kami kaya meron kaming anti-poverty program, meron kaming programa ngayong COVID,” Robredo said.

'Di completely nawala pero at least yung sistema, in place. Ang daming ginawa para mabawasan ito,” she said.
