The scheduled Wednesday games of the PBA Philippine Cup have been postponed following the government plan to put the National Capital Region (NCR) under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) this week.
With the rise of COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila, the league made the advisory in support of the government's directives.
The entire NCR region will be placed under ECQ status starting from August 6 to 20.
Meanwhile, the PBA has already written a letter to Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) seeking permission to allow the league to hold the Philippine Cup season in Lipa City, Batangas.
Batangas is currently under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) restrictions, which will be ideal for the league to follow the closed-circuit system that was enforced for health and safety reasons.
Wednesday's triple-header at the Ynares Sports Arena was supposed to be TNT Tropang Giga versus Blackwater Bossing, NLEX against Meralco, and Phoenix versus Terrafirma.
PBA aims to secure a clearance from the IATF, as well as the permission from the local government of Batangas, in hopes of resuming the following games starting Friday.
